W Toronto today announces the seasonal re-opening of two spaces to soak up the sun and the vibe – The Yard, an urban oasis in the heart of the hotel designed by John Paul & Co. featuring Missoni Home; and the Skylight Terrace, an elevated patio featuring relaxed group and high top seating – as well as semiprivate birdcage-style seating – that is a part of the ultra-popular Skylight Rooftop Bar and Restaurant. In addition, the start of summer marks the perfect time for guests to book a Marvelous Terrace Room with enclosed terraces facing The Yard, so the party can begin with just one step outside.

The Yard
Just steps away from the Living Room (W’s signature lobby bar/lounge), sits The Yard, an urban oasis that gives new meaning to the term “garden party.” Surrounded by flowers and manicured greenery, the space is designed by John Paul & Co. featuring elements from Missoni Home. The iconic, Missoni décor pops in juxtaposition against the building’s signature Brutalist design including a three-story atrium of guest room windows which creates a voyeuristic tension between public and private. Featuring a plethora of seating options, guests can relax on bright teal chaise lounges, a luxurious sectional flanked by signature Missoni chevron poofs, low seated loungers, or group dining tables under draped canopies. Want to really soak in the sun? Recline in the Missoni hammock with a must-have cocktail in hand. Open throughout the summer on Mondays – Wednesdays from 3PM-12AM and Thursdays – Sundays from 12PM-12AM.
Skylight Terrace
Perched high in the Yorkville sky overlooking the lights of Bloor Street is Skylight Terrace, a posh outdoor gathering space for cocktails, upscale cuisine and people watching that is part of the hotel’s enchanting – and buzzing – Skylight Rooftop Bar and Restaurant. Accessible through a wall of glass doors that open from the main dining room, the scenic Terrace is surrounded by plush greenery and boasts views of the local city skyline. The perfect place to grab a signature cocktail, Skylight Terrace features relaxed, group and high-top seating as well as two (2) garden birdcages, with lounge seating for up to eight (8).
Serving Skylight’s new summer menu which continues their tradition of Mediterranean-inspired mezze, raw bar and alluring cocktails, highlights include shareable favorites such as the Grand Royal Tower (a towering seafood platter with oysters, clams, lobster, scallop crudo, king crab legs and more), and new must-haves; Nayea Lamb Tartare (displayed on an iced platter with dill chermoula, caper and preserved lemon emulsion, cured egg yolk and saffron aioli with a crumbled rice cracker) and the Braised Smoky Beef Short Ribs (served with saffron labneh, pomegranate, stewed chickpeas, crispy shallots and saffron herbed rice). Cocktail highlights include Lavender Sky (with Belvedere Vodka, Crème de Violette, Galliano vanilla, fresh lemon juice and edible flowers) and the launch of bottle service including a list of fine selections like Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Brut and Dom Pérignon Brut. Live DJs add to the eclectic, oasis vibe every Tuesday-Saturday. Open throughout summer, on Tuesdays-Saturdays from 6PM.
