To experience the true culinary breadth of this restaurant, we decided to try the Chef’s Tasting Menu. We began our evening with little amuse-bouche that paired a fresh J’adore Oyster with the refreshing summer flavour or rhubarb. And to drink, we tried one of their special summer cocktails that was created with a homemade pear reductions and topped with Cava.
The first dish served presented tuna in two ways placing tuna tatar with a fresh tuna sashimi with a light avocado mouse and adorned with rice that was puffed in house and lightly spiced with chilli.
A richer dish was then served of home made gnocchi topped with a charred scallion cream sauce, fresh parmesan and off set with the light tasted of peas.
The foie gras at Restaurant e18hteen is so well known that Chef Jonathan Korecki is always searching for new ways to serve the dish. We had the delight to try seared and served on a buttermilk pancake and topped with white chocolate and almonds.
For a palette cleanser, they served shaved ice chips topped with a spiced chocolate which was both light and refreshing.
For our main, we tried their upscale version of a ‘surf and turf’ plate serving a filet minion that was grilled to perfection with scallops mizuna topped with a traditional bordelaise sauce.
And to finish off our very lovely evening, for dessert they served a white chocolate and raspberry mouse.
