If you’re more interested in city life, here we will be taking a look at five ways you can pack out a single day when visiting Toronto.
If you’re more of a great outdoors person that would rather see what Ontario has to offer, then you need to keep on reading further down for more great things to do once day when you next visit Ontario, from visiting Niagara Falls to wine tasting, and from visiting the many gardens to visiting the zoo.
Morning
You may want to start your day by visiting the largest shopping centre in Toronto, the Eaton Centre, which is just a couple of minutes down the road from City Hall. If you’re interested in architecture and enjoy checking out City Hall, you may also like to quickly view the Old City Hall, which has stood nearby since 1889. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, and before you go out and see more sites, you can put your shopping back in your hotel room.
If you fancy a leisurely stroll, head over to the Harbourfront centre and go to the edge of Lake Ontario via Lower Simcoe. Here, you can find plenty of eateries, bars, and shops. If you’re a sports fan, then you may like to take a trip to the only American Major League stadium in Canada, the Rogers Centre, which is home to the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team. If you have time, there’s also the largest museum in the world dedicated to hockey – the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Lunchtime
After you have got the morning out of the way, some other things to see and do in the afternoon are a quick stop in Chinatown, plus a trip to check out what is known as Graffiti Alley, where some of the best urban street artists have left their mark. If you happen to be visiting on a Sunday during the summer months, you also have a market to visit in Kensington. On your way back from the Harbourfront centre, you should also check out the iconic CN Tower.
Evening
If you would prefer to visit the CN Tower in the evening, you may also want to eat there. Don’t forget that it’s home to the 360 The Restaurant at the CN Tower, which offers an amazing view of the city, and has some fantastic food on offer. If you’re feeling lucky, you may want to have a flutter in one of several casinos in the city. However, the best casino Ontario has to offer is probably Fallsview Casino Resort, the grandest of them all.
