Germany’s third-largest city and state capital instantly charms anyone who is on the lookout for a massive pint of beer in one of the city’s iconic beer halls or beer gardens. It’s no secret when upon hearing the Bräuhaus and Biergarten will help you navigate and discover gems that will quench your thirst with the help of a massive beer stein. Proßt!
To avoid the confusion, in German, a Bräuhaus, translate to a privately-owned brewery. Usually, they’ll be noisy, filled with jolly people and good food and beer. You can always wait for a member of the staff to assign you a table or can choose one yourself. However, if you see the word “STAMMTISCH” on the table, the latter is usually reserved for regulars, so unless someone invites you to join them, find another free table. As for Biergarten, the latter translates for an outdoor area where beer and local food are served. Depending on the location, self-service is usually what one will find at any beer gardens; but fret not, usually a restaurant, a pub or even a beer hall is attached to the beer garden.
