Packing doesn’t have to be the hardest part of your trip. When it comes to traveling, always remember to pack all of your ‘must-have’ items in your carry-on. Medication? Toiletries? Headphones? Keep the items you need most close to you in your back-pack or purse so that you can access them easily during your flights. In this guide, I’ve rounded up a few of my travel essentials that will help to ease your in-flight experience.
Passport Holder
You’d be surprised at how often people tend to lose their passports, plane tickets, and other important documents. With this passport holder from Eccolo, you can hold everything important in it organized without losing anything. It’s slim and lightweight, making it easy to carry everywhere.
Portable Charger
Most flights offer Wifi and in-seat power outlets these days, but just incase your flight doesn’t offer those, have a portable charger like this one from Anker with you handy incase you start to lose battery from all the Candy Crush you’ve been playing.
Headphones
When you’re on a flight, noise cancelling headphones are a great way to get some peace and quiet on a long-haul flight. While earbuds can be an affordable option, the Beats Solo3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones are a great investment.
Toiletry Bags
To keep you organized, toiletry bags will come in handy to toiletries, liquids and other small items so that you don’t have to dig through your carry-on to find what exactly you’re looking for. The Mountaintop Toiletry Bag is convenient, and easy to organize option that comes equipped with a buckle to hang the back for easier access.
Inside my toiletry bag, I always pack hand sanitizer (to reduce the risk of bacteria even if you don’t have access to water and soap during travel), facial cleansing wipes (nothing feels better than feeling refreshed during or after a long flight) and dry shampoo (making your hair look clean as it removes excess oil when you don’t have access to a shower).
Reusable Water Bottle
While you can’t bring liquid over 100 mL into the airport, you can bring an empty water bottle to help you stay hydrated during your trip. I prefer a glass water bottle like this one from bkr that comes with a protective nylon sleeve because it won’t produce the same aftertaste as plastic or metal water bottles.
Neck Pillow
It’s not a pleasant feeling when you wake up at your destination with a sore neck. Bring a travel neck pillow like this one from Everlasting Comfort to ease your flight experience and catch those zzz’s.
Camera
Last but not least, your camera! You wouldn’t want to miss those shots of your adventure on your Fujifilm X-T20 Mirrorless Digital Camera.
