It all started when Spanish hotelier, Antonio Catalan,  affiliated himself with AC Hotels by Marriott brand by opening hotels in Europe back  in 2011. The hotels were inspired by classic European design, featuring simple, clean and crisp lines that create a feeling of harmony and inspire creativity which is perfectly suited for the modern business traveler. To this day, the hotel chain counts more than 120 hotels located in 15 countries across Europe, Latin and North America. Just up until recently, Canada was still waiting for AC Hotels by Marriott to call one Canadian metropolis home. Montreal was the lucky winner as it is the first city of the country to welcome the hotel chain.

AC Hotel  by Marriott Montreal Downtown offers unmistakable urban spirit and blends contemporary design with cosmopolitan sophistication. Located in the heart of the city right on Boulevard René-Lévesque, it is not only near the Quartier des Spectacles, but also near the Convention Center and Old Montreal. It would be safe to say the hotel is ideally situated for business and leisure travelers alike.

Starting at C$199 a night (double room with breakfast) you can sojourn in one of the 169 sleek oversized guest rooms. All rooms have hardwood floors, large walk-in showers, floor to ceiling windows and 50-inch HDTV.  As for the leisure part, you can head to the 12th floor and dip your toes in the 21-meter-long swimming pool that offers a panoramic view of Old Montreal. There’s also a dry sauna, exterior terrace and excise room in the facility. On the lobby level, La Palma restaurant invites guests and locals to experience Mediterranean-inspired cuisine by Chef David Capel or even have a much-needed drink after a long days’ work at the AC Lounge with spanish-style appetizers. In other words, whether you’re from the city or traveling to Montreal for business or pleasure, AC Hotel  by Marriott Montreal Downtown is worth a visit.
