This year, the  TD Toronto Jazz Festival shines the spotlight on outstanding jazz musicians that have delighted the public for generations.  From the soulful sounds of Diana Ross to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Tower of Power, the festival brings together the varied sound of this musical style for and a party like no other.

The headlines at the TD Toronto Jazz Festival include one of music’s most iconic singers, Diana Ross, as well as multi-GRAMMY winner, singer-songwriter Norah Jones, Cuba’s grand dame Omara Portuondo, heavy hitters Tower of Power, jazz darlings Cécile McLorin Salvant and Emilie-Claire Barlow, and an exciting double bill with Rinsethealgorithm and Ghost-Note!

Where is the Toronto Jazz Festival?

The TD Toronto Jazz Festival is located at The Sony Centre, The Horseshoe Tavern, Koerner Hall, The Danforth Music Hall and throughout Yorkville.

TD Mainstage in Yorkville – Free Street Performance

Taking place in the heart of the city, Yorkville will hold some of the most talented artists including jazz, pop and folk musicians. festival expands its footprint in Yorkville closing Cumberland Street for the entire ten days of the Festival to make way for free performances.

Headlining the New Orleans themed evening at the TD Stage on Cumberland St. is the Iconic Hot 8 Brass Band.  Festival-goers can also take part in visiting daily interactive activations and musicians like Queen of Gospel Shirley Caesar and Canada’s own Shad (in partnership with CBC Music) among others. Hazelton Ave. will also be part of the action from Monday, June 24 to Sunday, June 30 with performances by 20 bands from across Canada, the UK and Italy.

The TD Toronto Jazz FREE opening weekend celebrations as Bloor Street  will include film star and The Blues Brothers co-founder Dan Aykroyd, Late Night with David Letterman bandleader Paul Shaffer, blues-rock great David Wilcox, Louisiana bluesman Kenny Neal, and Downchild alumni, Gene Taylor, will be among the special guests who will take the TD Mainstage on Bloor on Saturday, June 22 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the renowned Downchild Blues Band.
