Montreal: IBÉRICOS

Not too long ago, TRAVEL + DESIGN had the fortunate chance of attending the launch of Tapas 24 MTL’s Aperitivo menu in the heart of Montreal’s Old Port. We all know Catalan reputed chef, Carles Abellan, has come to  Montreal  to open this tapas destination with the help of Venezuelan-born Chef, Hassaim Souki Tamayo. Three years after Tapas 24 became a well-established destination in the city, Tamayo partnered up with Joseph Ramirez, an importer who started bringing  local products from Spain to Canada  since 2011 in the hope of opening a new restaurant. As Ramirez is known to seek the best Jamon Iberico,  Iberian acorn ham (Bellota, Pata Negra) and other products that customers will be able to get their hands on in Montreal, Ramirez and Tamayo have decided to open IBÉRICOS, a Spanish tapas tavern that combines both delicacies from Spain and local fresh ingredients from Quebec. Located in…

In other words, their goal was to recreate our favorite uncle’s man cave, who here, figuratively goes by the name of  Leo. We all have a Leo in our lives. He’s the cool uncle with the most insane basement which was the place by…
